Festival of Ideas

The City of Stirling played host to a full week of interactive planning workshops in July 2009, and it truly was a Festival of Ideas.

Engineered to engage the local community with the development of the Stirling City Centre, the forums, workshops and presentations brought together a diverse range of people from community, business and government.

Approximately 300 participants embraced the opportunity to be part of this truly consultative process and have their say in shaping the future of Stirling City Centre.

The long term vision of the project is to establish a vibrant inner-city lifestyle, a main street core, accessible public transport and diverse housing. To assist in exploring this vision, a number of urban designers, planners, engineers and specialists in innovative water and infrastructure delivery ran precinct specific workshops.

The outcomes of these workshops were then amalgamated into two options of an indicative master plan, which form the basis for further detailed precinct discussions with community, landowners and key stakeholders.

If you would like to be involved in detailed precinct discussions, please call the office and register your interest.
