Our plan » Northern Precinct
Northern Precinct
The precinct north of the former landfill will remain as primarily a hospital and residential area, with improved links back to the city’s centre for residents and hospital employees and visitors.
How to get involved
See the Get involved page to see how you can get involved in planning for the Northern precinct or the entire Stirling City Centre study area.
Take a look at the plan
The structure plan establishes the general intent and vision for the precincts. However further detailed precinct planning will be required prior to any development taking place.
See the publications page for more information.

What next?
Detailed Area Plans will be adopted as policy under the Planning Scheme. In addition, Form Based Codes will be prepared for each of the precincts to provide place-specific design requirements for the built form and public realm. These codes will engender the principles contained within this structure plan and will provide additional detailed requirements and design rigour to guide the development of each precinct.
The draft Detailed Area Plan once prepared will be referred to the City of Stirling and will go through the formal advertising approval process and presented to the whole community before adoption into the City of Stirling local planning scheme.
