Our vision
Stirling City Centre strives to become a sustainable 21st century city, a place for everyone. It will be a hub for a diverse and prosperous community, offering wellbeing.
How will it affect your future?
Imagine working within walking distance from your home, being able to pick up some fresh groceries on the way home after meeting your friends for coffee in the town square. Or maybe incorporating your daily exercise in a walk through a leafy green corridor to the train station. Perhaps you don’t live in Stirling right now but would be interested in investing in a modern, affordable dwelling close to shops and entertainment facilities. These are all possibilities as part of the new Stirling City Centre vision.
What's our biggest challenge?
Our biggest challenge is turning a congested retail focussed centre into a people friendly, leafy, modern and diverse community. This is a complex task due to existing stakeholder requirements, environmental constraints and the changing needs of Perth as a fast growing capital city.

Policy context
Our vision reflects that of the State Planning Directions 2031 and Beyond: 'by 2031, Perth and Peel people will have created a world class liveable city; green, vibrant, more compact and accessible with a unique sense of place.'
Our intention is to allign our structure plan and detailled area plans for the study area with the COAG Capital Cities Agenda which states that from 1 January 2010, the Commonwealth will link future infrastructure funding to states and territories that meet national criteria for transport, housing, urban development and sustainability.
Our performance
As part of our performance framework, we have developed five strategic focus areas to achieve our vision as follows:
